Joseph "Joe" Peter Tondo, 60, of Rosharon, TX sexually assaulted the girl in Southampton Township, PA for over a decade, the Cumberland County District Attorney's office explained in a release on Friday, Feb. 2.
Judge Christylee Peck sentenced Tondo to "an aggregate sentence of 11-22 years in a state correctional institution, followed by a term of 10 years of probation," as stated in the release on Tuesday, Oct. 1. "In a separate proceeding immediately before sentencing, Judge Peck found Defendant to meet the criteria to be classified as a Sexually Violent Predator."

Starting when she was 14 years old, the graphic "oral, anal, and vaginal sex" began the victim explained during the three-day trial. She noted that the sex acts were "required" by Tondo as part of an "agreement" system he devised for her to "earn various items or privileges," the DA stated in multiple releases about the case.

First Assistant District Attorney Courtney Hair LaRue prosecuted this case.
Tondo was found guilty of Involuntary Deviate Sexual Intercourse of a Child Less than 16, Statutory Sexual Assault, Sexual Assault, Indecent Exposure, and Unlawful Contact with Minors on Thursday, Feb. 1, according to the DA and an updated court record.
Although he was convicted, 11 charges were withdrawn, dropped, or charged, court records show. These included Rape, Aggravated Indecent Assault, Photograph/Film/Depict On Computer Sex Act-Child, and Disseminating Sexually Explicit Material.
Also, following his trial convictions, Tondo pled no contest to Corruption of Minors at a second docket which involved three additional teenage victims who reported that the defendant touched them inappropriately.
After the convictions, Judge Christylee Peck raised his bail to $1,000,000. He remained in the Cumberland County Prison pending his sentencing which was originally scheduled for May 2, but was moved to Sept. 30.
Pennsylvania State Police Carlisle Trooper Jacob Brown-Schields investigated this case and the DA thanked him for his "unwavering support of the victim" and also thanked Victim Advocate Annie Demmy.
